The site

A stream, a fire circle and a very good shop.

Four fields and a lane of hardstanding, edged with hedges and old apple trees, running down to the Mill Pond. The showers are in the middle, hot and free, with a washing-up shed and a family room. There’s a rounders field, a stream shallow enough to paddle in, and the fire circle on Friday and Saturday nights.

No bar, no disco, no Wi-Fi in the fields. Quiet from 10.30pm, and the village pub is a twenty-minute walk away.

Before you come

The things everyone asks the shop.

Anything else, ring 01632 960418 or send us a message.

What time can we arrive, and when do we leave?

Arrive from 2pm and be on your pitch by 8pm: the lane has no lights. Leave by 11am on your last morning. Early arrival from 11am is £10 if you book it as an extra.

Can we bring the dog?

Yes, on every grass and hardstanding pitch, at £3 a dog a night, up to three. Not in the bell tents or the shepherd’s huts, sorry. Leads on round the site, please; there’s a dog walk along the stream.

Can we have a campfire?

Yes, off the ground. Bring a firepit or borrow one from the shop, and buy your wood from us: seasoned ash from the valley with kindling, £7 a bundle, left on your pitch if you book it as an extra. The bell tents have their own firepit, and the fire circle is lit on Friday and Saturday evenings for everyone.

When is the shop open?

Every day: 8am to 7pm from Easter to October, 9am to 5pm the rest of the year. Bacon rolls from eight in the season, plus milk, bread, gas, ice packs, firewood and all the tent pegs you forgot.

Can we book for tonight?

Not online: the booking closes the day before. Ring the shop on 01632 960418 and if there’s a pitch, it’s yours.
